Open Shop - Open shops are times that you are welcome to work on personal projects as well as volunteer your time learning to fix bikes to help YBP. Kids under 16 are not allowed at Open/Volunteer shops without adult
supervision, at a ratio of one adult per two children.
Volunteer Shop - These shops are reserved for volunteering, and everyone is welcome. Volunteers are also welcome during "open shops." Learn to fix bikes that benefit YBP: sale bikes for fundraising, kids' bikes for schools, and other special projects. "Volunteer shops" are usually less busy and facilitate a better learning experience. Personal projects are not allowed during "volunteer shops;" they can only be worked on during "open shops." Kids under 16 are not allowed at Open/Volunteer shops without adult supervision, at a ratio of one adult per two children.
Kids Shop - Kids under 16 are invited to work on bikes and/or
volunteer for Yellow Bike. Adult volunteers who want to help kids
work on bikes are welcome as well.
All Ages Shop - Just Like Open Shops except kids under 16 are allowed unsupervised
Lady Bike - The aim of Lady Bike is to remove the dude-itude from the greasy world of bike work by providing lady-based instruction in a dude-free environment. Other gender identities are welcome as well - all except for "the man." Sorry, straight dudes, this is one day you'll just have to play with your bike parts alone. Check the schedule for Lady Bike hours.
Bilingual - Indicates a bilingual shop. Volunteers that speak Spanish will be present.
Collective Meetings - We have our monthly collective meetings on the 1st Tuesday of the month. Collective meetings are held at our Webberville Shop at 1216 Webberville Road at 7pm.
These meetings are open to the public. If you would like to contribute ideas to the collective, make requests, learn more about the project and its internal workings, or just get more involved this is the forum for you.
Volunteers Needed - We need volunteers so that we can expand and maintain hours of our shops. We want to be open more often. Come to any of our scheduled shops to see how you can get involved. |
